Leonard Krishtalka

Leonard Krishtalka is a member of NEON’s Senior Management Team and co-chair of the NEON Subcommittee on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Function. He has served as a research curator at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History studying the paleobiology of mammals in North America, Africa, and Asia; as an NSF Program Director; and as a member of NSF’s Advisory Committee for the Biological Sciences Directorate. His recent work encompasses an international initiative in biodiversity informatics and forecasting of ecological and environmental phenomena using bio-collection and other data. He is currently Director of the Biodiversity Institute, and Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Kansas, positions he has held since 1995.
