William Hargrove received a Ph.D. in Ecology (1988) and an M.S. in Entomology (1983) from the University of Georgia. Bill moved to Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1990 as a postdoc, and became a subcontract employee in 1993. He joined the ORNL staff in 2000 as a part of the Geographic Information and Spatial Technologies Group, and moved to his present position within the ORNL Environmental Sciences Division in 2001. His research interests include landscape ecology, computational science, GIS, statistics, spatially-explicit simulation modeling, remote sensing, and large-scale ecology.
