The Bush Administration Proposes Doubling the NSF Budget

As part of its American Competitiveness Initiative, the Bush Administration has proposed doubling the budget of the National Science Foundation over the next decade. The FY 2007 Budget Request includes a 7.9 percent increase for NSF, to $6.02 billion. Investments in Major Research Equipment and Facilities Construction (MREFC) would increase by 26 percent.
