Request for Information
In October 2006, the NEON Project Office announced a Request for Information (RFI) inviting members of the ecological research community to submit ideas about how they would use NEON observational and cyberinfrastructure resources to address the science goals of the NEON Integrated Science and Education Plan (ISEP). The office received more than 60 responses from the ecological research community, including recommendations for research designs, experimental designs, and wildland sites where NEON observational resources could be deployed.

The November 1 NEON RFI Webcast is now available. Follow the link to view the proceedings and listen to NEON Board Chair Jim MacMahon’s summary of how interested members of the ecological community can respond to the Request for Information—and contribute ideas that shape the final design of NEON. The Q & A session provides additional specifics to help respondents meet the January 5, 2007 deadline for submissions.
