
Debra Peters is the lead scientist with the USDA Agricultural Research Service, adjunct associate professor at New Mexico State University, and Principal Investigator of the Jornada Basin LTER program. Dr. Peters’ research interests are associated with cross-scale interactions, extrapolating information across scales, and the nonlinear propagation of catastrophic events under varying climatic and disturbance regimes. In 2005, she served as co-chair of the Climate Change Subcommittee for the NEON Design Consortium. She received her B.S. from Iowa State University, M.S. from San Diego State University, and Ph.D. from Colorado State University.
